Quickies: Ancient Chinese Secret
Gwen Stefani looks much better in Harper’s Bazaar than the last time we saw her. It helps that she’s not pawing her bikini bottoms out of her ass. (Hollywood PQ) If you’ve always wanted to know how Tommy Lee Jones serves up the wiener… and you know you do! (Huffington Post) Katy Perry and John Mayer are getting “serious.” Seriously revolting. (Evil Beet) How does one go about obtaining the job of “Jessica Alba’s personal leg bronzer?” (Moe Jackson) Gillian Anderson is a single woman again and ripe for the plucking. (Hollywood Rag) That cat has devil eyes. (City Rag) Katie Holmes hires a ‘confidence coach’ to cope with stress of her divorce from Tom. Fortunately, I already have a confidence coach, and his name is Jack Daniels. (Celebitchy) Miley Cyrus looks shitty as a blond and even shittier as a prisoner-of-war being held hostage in the eighties. Boo, you suck, Miley Cyrus! (INF Daily) Joan Rivers handcuffs herself to a Costco shopping cart because they refuse to stock her book. (The Blemish) Sixteen pearls of wisdom from Lao Tzu. Memorize them so you can sound unbearably pretentious at the next office Christmas party. (Caveman Circus) Fredrica Narga’s skin looks like it was spun from caramel. Thank you, baby Jesus. (The Grumpiest) The sexiest javelin throwers of the Olympics. I guess the blind archers were too busy. (COED Magazine) Three cheers for Maria Menounos’ bikini booty! They made me say that. Meryl Streep in a coral, belted dress at the ‘Hope Springs’ premiere: ageless & lovely? My mother wants to see Hope Springs. I know she’s going to guilt me into taking her to see it. Hope Springs is that movie starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones as an older married couple looking to rediscover their “spark” with the help of a marriage counselor played by Steve Carell. Considering Carell’s career trajectory (he usually plays lead characters at this point), I’m guessing he just did this movie because he wanted a chance to work with Meryl and Tommy Lee Jones. Now, I’ll see pretty much anything with Meryl, so that’s not my issue. I guess my issue is that Tommy seems like such a curmudgeon on and off-screen, and I don’t want to pay good money to watch him scowl through an entire film. Maybe it will be okay, though. Who can really scowl when Meryl Streep is around? Anyway, these are new photos of the Hope Springs NYC premiere. I’m not expecting this to be some huge post with a lot of comments, which is a shame because everyone should love Meryl, and we should love Meryl vocally. Also: do you notice the way Meryl is kind of hiding her left hand? It’s because she gave herself a really bad cut while she was slicing an avocado in her Connecticut kitchen. Meryl just got a local doctor to patch her up and she continued to meet all of her professional obligations. Because she’s a pro. As for Meryl’s dress at the premiere – eh. The color is beautiful on her, her skin looks great, and I love her hair. The dress looks kind of cheap, though, and I’m not wild about the thick belt. Here’s the trailer for Hope Springs: Related Male Celebrities:

Box Office: "Men In Black III" Dethrones "The Avengers" Knocking the box office giant off of its top spot perch, "Men In Black III" grabbed the number one position to begin the Memorial Day holiday weekend of May 25-28, 2012. The Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones starring sequel to the popular Sci-Fi franchise nabbed $18 million on opening day while estimated to pull in $75 million over the four day weekend. Slipping to the runner-up slot for the first time since being released a month ago, the Joss Whedon directed superhero blockbuster "The Avengers" starring Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth ended up with $9.7 million on Friday while pacing towards another $45 million over the long weekend to put its domestic grand total earnings at a whopping $523.5 million. Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated totals are a tie between the newly released Bradley Parker directed horror film "Chernobyl Diaries" ($11.5 million) and the Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna, Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker fronted Hasbro game based caper "Battleship" ($11.5 million), followed by the Sacha Baron Cohen helmed comedy "The Dictator" ($11.4 million).
