The hunky heartthrob turns 27 today, and we thought we would celebrate by gawking at pics of him for hours on end. Rob is known for his smoldering stare and low-key hotness, so let’s wish him a happy birthday by turning him into eye candy, shall we?

Pattinson’s had a pretty big year with the Twilight saga coming to an end and that whole cheating scandal thing…but looks like all is well the world of Kristen and Rob right now.

Preparing to jet back to the west coast, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart headed to lunch before arriving at JFK Airport in New York City on Wednesday (May 8).

The "On the Road" star wore a gray top, black leather jacket, dark skinnies and Chucks while her "Twilight" costar wore a black jacket, black baseball cap, and blue jeans as they got ready to depart.

Recently, the 23-year-old actress made headlines in a not-so-positive way again, as she was voted the least trusted female actress on the Reader''s Digest Trust Poll.

However, Ms. Stewart is in good company, as action hero and leading man Tom Cruise was the lowest male celeb on the list. America''s beloved Tom Hanks turned up on the other end, taking the most trusted spot.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson head into JFK Airport after spending a few days together in the Big Apple on Wednesday (May 8) in New York City.

The 23-year-old actress and the 26-year-old actor were spotted getting lunch together in the city before heading to the airport to fly back to Los Angeles.

Earlier in the week, Kristen went solo on the red carpet at the 2013 Met Ball.

Here’s my knee-jerk, superficial assessment of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s extracurricular activities: she’s the pot-smoker and he’s the drinker. She always looks and acts stoned and he usually looks like he’s hungover and/or coming off a bender. From what I’ve gathered from Rob’s interviews over the past few years, I think he probably is more into getting boozy rather than getting stoned. And I think if Kristen has a choice between multiple recreations, she’s always going to choose pot. Does this mix make for a good relationship? Probably not. But then again, they’ve made it work this long so maybe they know something we don’t. Or maybe Rob’s drinking is just getting worse and worse and Kristen is in denial?

After Kristen Stewart broke Robert Pattinson’s heart last July by cheating on him, Rob turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows. And now he can’t stop drinking, according to friends.

“Rob was a complete mess over Kristen’s cheating and began drinking to numb the heartbreak,” says a close source. “Rob doesn’t just drink with friends while out, he drinks by himself at home and always reeks of alcohol.”

His friends became worried last year, but little did they know it would only get worse once he reunited with Kristen. Insiders say that Rob has not stopped drinking, and he and Kristen have been going on late-night binges together, often staying out until 7 am.

“His friends are so scared for his health, they’re trying to figure out a way to help him.

Rob has become so dependent that he now brings vodka on set, where he drinks it all day long while working.

“He even has plans to open up an exclusive bar on Cahuenga Blvd. in Hollywood, where he can party in peace and not have to worry if anyone’s watching.”

“Kristen doesn’t try to help Rob, because she doesn’t see a problem with the drinking. Everyone thinks they have a very unhealthy relationship. The best thing that could happen for Rob would be to ditch Kristen and stop drinking – to save not only his acting career but his life.”

The thing about his drinking vodka while he’s working… well, I hope that’s not true. That’s a really, really bad sign. But I’ve always thought that “drinking alone” was one of the most overblown “indicators” of a drinking problem. Sometimes you just want to sit in your house alone and have a drink, you know? You’re not driving, you’re not making a fool out of yourself publicly, you’re just getting your drink on in private and who cares? Now, does Rob have a drinking problem? God knows. He’s been looking mostly sober-ish lately, but that doesn’t mean anything. Gossip Cop spoke to a “source very close to Rob” who says that this story is crap. But I do think that if Rob and Kristen’s relationship has taught us anything, it’s that they’re both self-destructive in completely different ways.

Kristen Stewart reportedly hopes boyfriend Robert Pattinson will escort her to the Met Ball in New York City to show the world their relationship is back on track. A source dished:

“Kristen loves fashion and loves Rob. She would love for Rob to attend the Met Gala with her in New York in May. She would love for Rob to be her date at Monday’s Met Ball, but she isn’t pressuring him.”

Now, this isn’t the type of event most guys would get into. It’s also the type of event most guys have a hard time talking themselves out of if they’re in a relationship- LOL. So if they’re back on (as all the stories around Kristen’s birthday would suggest, not to mention their attendance at Coachella), then what’s the big deal? Color me confused. Regardless of whether or not they attend the Met Ball together, Kristen reportedly plans to spend time with Robert in New York before his May 13 birthday.

“Kristen is excited to spend some quality time with Rob in New York. They always have fun in the city together and plan on seeing some bands and spending tome with some good friends.”

The Met Ball is tonight, so we’ll know soon if Rob came through for his girlfriend or not!

“He had a pretty good time, I’d say,” Guy said (via MTV News Australia). “He struggled with the flies and the heat! I didn’t man him up, but the others manned him up,” he added.

Getting ready to leave the Big Apple, Robert Pattinson checked out of his New York City hotel on Tuesday (April 23).

The “Twilight” hunk carried a stylish duffel bag out to his awaiting ride while ignoring the always-present shutterbugs.

In relationship news, Rob is reportedly taking dance lessons with girlfriend Kristen Stewart.

A source close to the couple said, "Rob is the first to admit he''s a terrible dancer. The pair have already had a couple of lessons with a private instructor and have been practicing their moves at Kristen’s mom’s house in Malibu, California, where they are currently staying.”

Of course, these new reports lead to speculation that the on-screen vampire couple is set to head down the aisle. We shall see.
