Hard at work on their hit HBO series, Olivia Munn and Dev Patel shot scenes for "The Newsroom" in New York City on Wednesday (April 24).

Looking casual for the day on set, the on screen duo enjoyed conversation and lunch while filming in Madison Square park.

According to the show''s site, "The Newsroom" is a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. The series tracks their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements.

A writer for The Newsroom, Gideon Yago, is currently working with Starz to develop a series called Airborne, a Vietnam War drama, according to THR.

The Newsroom returns for its second season this June on HBO.

The film centers on “a journalist who risks her life for her latest assignment – tracking a pair of young lovers whose parents want to kill them because they want to marry against their wishes.”

Aaron Sorkin‘s drama, The Newsroom, premiered Sunday (June 24) drawing in 2.1 million viewers.

The show – co-starring Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, and Thomas Sadoski – “ranks as one of HBO’s stronger drama series premieres of the past four season,” Deadline reports.

A combined total of 2.7 million viewers tuned in for its two showings.
